We undertake product value assessment and monitoring activity in accordance with the FCA’s PROD (Product Intervention and Product Governance) Sourcebook requirements every 12 months.

What we need from you

Please ensure you review our Distributor Product Guides for all Allianz products you distribute to your customers. 

To help us complete our annual assessments, we get in touch with a selection of our distribution partners for some information to be able to demonstrate clearly the distribution channels we use do not compromise customer fair value. We’d appreciate a prompt response from you.

Broker FAQs

In recent years, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has considerably increased its focus on product value, and as a result, implemented successive regulatory requirements.

These requirements apply to both manufacturers and distributors of insurance products and for both commercial and personal lines of business. The requirements place the onus on brokers’ and insurers’ internal operations and controls to ensure that the industry as a whole works towards providing customers with products and services that deliver fair value. We’ve concluded our 2024 Fair Value and Product Re-approval Assessments for Allianz products and have updated our Distributor Product Guides to reflect the results.

By visiting our broker website pages and navigating to each product page, you can find all the details necessary for insurance brokers to: 

  • understand the insurance products we offer;
  • determine the identified target market for the insurance products;
  • identify any customer segment for whom the insurance product is not compatible, particularly in relation to their needs, characteristics and objectives;
  • carry out distribution activities for the relevant insurance products with the customer's best interests at heart.

Manufacturers of insurance products are required to complete an annual assessment to ensure that these products provide fair value to customers in the target market.

We’d appreciate a prompt response from you to help support our value assessments.

We need a clear understanding of the distribution process. The broker partners who we have a direct relationship with are required to provide information about their services, remuneration and distribution arrangements. It's important that product manufacturers and distributors work together to ensure that customers receive fair value from the goods and services they purchase and achieve the right outcomes at every point of their journey, regardless of who they're interacting with.

We’ll take appropriate action to stop any further harm from occurring and inform our impacted distribution partners about the remedial action being taken.
