ALLIANZ NET ZERO ACCELERATOR BROKER PROMOTION FOR SELECTED ALLIANZ BROKERS* (Extended)
This promotion is open to invited brokers only who are based in Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and who are authorised to introduce certain classes of general insurance business under an active agency agreement with Allianz.
To apply, the eligible broker must complete the designated application form shared with the broker. Applications will be reviewed and considered at Allianz’s absolute discretion using pre-determined criteria.
Allianz shall review the broker’s initial application, and (at Allianz’s absolute discretion) certain selected brokers shall then benefit from the following:
- carbon reduction consultancy services provided by Allianz’s third party provider Green and Good Consulting Ltd (or such other third party as Allianz may select at its absolute discretion);
- such benefits to amount to a maximum value of £1,500 per broker.
Successful brokers will be notified that their carbon emissions have been offset at the point of confirmation that they will receive carbon reduction consultancy. No cash will be provided to any broker and carbon offsetting will be achieved via a carbon offsetting fund of Allianz’s choosing.
(Together these benefits comprise the “Net Zero Accelerator”).
This promotion is available until:
a) 23:59 on 31 December 2024;
b) the date the broker’s agency agreement terminates with Allianz; or
c) the date on which Allianz gives written notice of the withdrawal of the promotion to the broker, (whichever is earliest).
Only one application can be made per eligible broker and Allianz will disallow duplicate claims where it finds them.
This promotion is non-transferable and there is no cash or other alternative.
Allianz reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of this promotion by written notice to eligible brokers.
Allianz shall not be liable for the advice or consultancy services provided as part of this promotion, including whether such advice or consultancy services successfully result in any reduction in carbon emissions.
REGULATORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Nothing in this promotion or these Terms and Conditions shall obligate the broker to place general insurance business or any particular policy with Allianz in any circumstances where to do so would not be in the best interests of the broker’s customers. By participating in this promotion the broker is not giving any warranty or undertaking to Allianz as to the value of business which may be placed by the broker with Allianz. Participating in this promotion does not require the broker to place general insurance business, or any particular insurance policy, with Allianz, in particular where the broker could offer a different insurance policy, from Allianz or another insurer, which would better meet that customer's needs.
In accepting these Terms and Conditions the broker confirms that such acceptance, and its access to the Net Zero Accelerator, will not prevent the broker’s compliance with all relevant laws, rules, regulations and codes of practice in force from time to time, and in particular but without limitation the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, the Financial Services Act 2012, the Financial Conduct Authority (“FCA”), the Money Laundering Regulations 2017 or the Bribery Act 2010.
The broker will not place itself in a position where by accepting these Terms and Conditions to access the promotion might conflict with its obligation and duty to its customers from a regulatory or legal perspective (including its duties as agent under common law). Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall override the broker’s duty to act honestly, fairly and professionally in accordance with the best interests of its customers. The broker must treat its customers fairly at all times in accordance with the FCA rules and in particular the requirements of Fair Treatment of Customers stipulated by the FCA.
The broker must have in place a conflicts of interest policy in accordance with the regulatory requirements including procedures and controls to identify and manage any potential, actual, perceived or alleged conflicts of interest.
The broker must have in place documented procedures and controls to identify and manage the soliciting or acceptance of unfair inducements where this would conflict with the broker’s duties to customers, including the duty to act honestly, fairly and professionally in accordance with the best interests of customers. The broker should consider and manage information about the promotion for those staff responsible for the placement of business to avoid any influence or incentive for them to place business as a result of the promotion. It is the broker’s responsibility to determine whether an inducement is or could be unfair and conflicts to any material extent with a duty which the broker owes to its customers.
The broker agrees to comply with its regulatory requirements and make appropriate disclosure to customers of remuneration paid or payable to it by Allianz in accordance with its regulatory obligations and industry guidance, including the nature and basis of any remuneration payments and economic benefits in kind to customers in good time before the conclusion of their initial insurance policy and, if necessary, on its amendment or renewal.
Allianz shall be entitled at its absolute discretion to disclose the offering of this promotion to the broker as a benefit in kind to any policyholder or customer where such information is requested by that policyholder or customer, or is required to comply with regulatory requirements.
Each of the broker and Allianz:
a) shall comply with all applicable laws, regulations, codes and sanctions relating to anti-bribery and anti-corruption including but not limited to the Bribery Act 2010 and shall not engage in any activity, practice or conduct which would constitute an offence under the Bribery Act 2010 (regardless of where such activity, practice, or conduct is carried out);
b) shall not offer or give, or agree to give, to any employee, agent, servant or representative of the other party any gift or consideration of any kind as an inducement or reward for doing, refraining from doing, or for having done or refrained from doing, any act in relation to this promotion or the placement of general insurance business, or for showing or refraining from showing favour or disfavour to any person in relation to any such activities;
c) shall have in place adequate procedures designed to prevent persons employed by or associated with that party from bribing another person;
d) shall promptly report to the other party any request or demand for any undue financial or other advantage of any kind received in connection with this promotion or the placement of general insurance business; and
e) each warrants that it has not paid sales commission or agreed to pay any sales commission to any employee or representative of the other party in relation to this promotion.
The broker may not transfer or assign its rights or obligations set out in these terms in whole or in part.
This promotion is not valid in conjunction with any of our other promotions.
This promotion and these Terms and Conditions of entry are governed by the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with this promotion and you agree they are a convenient forum for you.
