What is business vehicles insurance?

Business vehicles insurance is specially designed for business cars, vans, taxis and trucks.

There are normally four types of cover:

Third party only

Third party, fire
and theft

Comprehensive

Protection for cars which are off the road (SORN)

If your business has more than one vehicle, fleet insurance may be an option to cover all of them on the same policy rather than separate insurance for individual vehicles.

Motor trade insurance may be more appropriate if your business is a garage or sells or services vehicles – your broker will be able to help you decide which cover is best for you.

Depending on the cover selected, business vehicle insurance may include cover for:

  • road traffic incidents where your driver is at fault e.g. for damage to another vehicle
  • damage caused by another driver who can’t be traced or is uninsured
  • accidental damage
  • theft or attempted theft of the vehicle and/or its contents
  • accidental misfuelling
