Here's how to add breakdown to your policy
1. Log in to your account
2. Select 'Your car, Make changes'
3. Select 'Edit car and cover'
4. Select 'Breakdown cover'
5. Under 'Do you want to add breakdown cover?' select 'Yes, please'
6. Click 'Next' and enter your start date for the changes to take place
Breakdown cover doesn't cover a vehicle if:
It's already broken down
It's un-roadworthy
It's without an MOT
What should I do if my car breaks down?
We know it sounds annoying, but really, just stay calm – it happens a lot and help will be on the way shortly. Here’s a little checklist to help keep you, and everyone else on the road, safe:
Turn your hazard lights on
Wear a hi-vis if you have one in the car
Make sure you’re safely off the road
Walk your warning triangle about 60 paces behind your vehicle (unless you’re on the motorway)
Exit the car through the left-hand door
If it’s dark outside or visibility’s poor, keep your sidelights switched on
