'5 things to consider' - changes to EU travelling

It’s been a summer like never before. The level of UK staycations has rocketed, with 16m during the school holidays alone.1 But with the government continually reviewing the travel restrictions for trips abroad, people are looking out for those countries which appear on the ‘Green List’. The latest update saw Switzerland, Liechtenstein along with Denmark and other EU countries given the green light, giving many people a last minute opportunity to get away.

It’s been a long time since international travel was the norm, and Brexit has led to new legal requirements. So Allianz Legal Protection have highlighted ‘5 things to consider’ before your trip so you’re up to date.

1. How long is left on your passport?

Previously it didn't matter whether there were 6 years or 6 days left on your passport, it was still valid for travel in the EU. However, post-brexit some countries now require that you have at least 6 months left on your passport in order to enter - check the government website for passport requirements in your holiday destination.
